Leicester
City manager Claudio Ranieri says Saturday’s Barclays Premier League
opponents Arsenal provide a stern test no matter what side they field.
The
Gunners come to King Power Stadium on the back of a 2-1 Capital One Cup
Third Round victory over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal’s
strength in depth was certainly on show in that fixture, as Mathieu
Flamini, who made his first appearance of the season, fired in two goals
to win the game for his side.
But
Ranieri says it is his task to try and expose weaknesses in an Arsenal
side that have so far this season impressed the City boss.
“Arsene
can choose his players,” Ranieri said. “Maybe he can put Sanchez in the
goal and put Cech as a striker! It’s always a great team.
“Arsenal in my opinion are a very good team – now I will concentrate on how we can win against them.
“Every
match is my biggest challenge – this is my philosophy. They are
fantastic, good quality and move the ball very well and very quickly. If
you want to find a weakness, it’s difficult, but we will try to find
it.”
The
Foxes have fallen behind in their last four consecutive Premier League
fixtures but have gone on to show great character by winning one and
drawing three of those games.
The
City boss added: “We must concentrate a little more and be careful
because it’s not easy to score a goal when you go down. I told my
players to concentrate.
“We
start well in every match and suddenly we make a mistake. When the
opponent makes a fantastic goal, you can well done, but not when we help
them to score a goal.”
